Favourite thing to do in my job: Learning new statistical concepts & applying them. The excitement that comes with learning new things never stops
I give kindness to virtually everyone i meet, like having fun (you know yolo) and love learning about all kinds of things
I am a 24-year old young statistician living in Nairobi. I love the wonders of the ocean & sea food. Traveling & touring is my main hobby, I have been to most parts of Kenya just for the fun of it. I aspire to contribute to the improvement of child health through a research career with UNICEF one day. Listening & understanding is what keeps me connected to the people I meet on a daily basis.
I carry out literature review, data management & analysis, coding & programming
I am entrusted with the duty to carry out data assembly, management & analysis in my department. To ensure I am at par with statistics I carry out reviews to find new statistical concepts and their usefulness in our study that is looking at child health in Kenya.
I also have to learn and carry out coding and programming in statistical softwares that make my work a lot easier.
My Typical Day
Data analysis & comprehensive statistical reviews.
On a daily basis I have to learn a new statistical concept and it’s applications ; there are gazillions of those :-). I analyze data depending on departmental needs and I have to code to ensure that my work is reproducible.
I get to help colleagues with statistical problems.
